JOTHERA — Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 10 June 2026 · Operated by Josidel Online Business Ventures, Nigeria

1. About JOTHERA

JOTHERA ("we", "us", "the Service") is an online education platform at jothera.com for children aged 2–12, operated by Josidel Online Business Ventures ("the Company"), a business registered in Nigeria. The Service offers lessons, quizzes, an AI tutor ("Jota"), progress tracking, report cards, CBT practice and school partnership tools across multiple curricula (Nigerian NERDC, US Common Core, UK National Curriculum, Canadian standards, and IB PYP).

2. Accounts & Eligibility

Accounts must be created by a parent, legal guardian, or authorised school representative aged 18 or older. Children use the Service only through profiles created and supervised by an account holder. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it updated.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

We offer a Free plan and paid plans (e.g. Basic, Family, Premium) billed in Nigerian Naira (₦) or local equivalents. Payments are processed by licensed third-party processors (e.g. Nomba); we do not store full card details. Paid plans renew per the stated billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of the paid period. School plans (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) are billed per term under a separate partnership agreement.

Refunds: If the Service is materially unavailable due to our fault for more than 7 consecutive days, you may request a pro-rated refund. Otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law in your country (e.g. statutory cooling-off rights in the UK/EU of 14 days for digital services not yet fully delivered).

4. The AI Tutor ("Jota")

Jota is an artificial-intelligence assistant designed with child-safety guidelines. AI can make mistakes. Jota's responses are for learning support and do not replace teachers, professional advice, or formal examinations. Parents should supervise younger children's use. We may review anonymised AI interactions to improve safety.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) share accounts or resell access; (b) upload unlawful, harmful or infringing content; (c) attempt to hack, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the Service; (d) use the Service to harass others; (e) misrepresent a school partnership. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

All lessons, quizzes, characters (including Jota the Tiger), logos, software and content are owned by or licensed to the Company and protected by copyright and trademark law. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for the enrolled child's education only. Report cards generated for your child may be printed and shared for personal/school use.

7. Schools & Teachers

School partners receive dashboard access to manage their own classes and pupils only. Schools are responsible for obtaining any parental consents required under their local law before enrolling pupils, and for the accuracy of pupil data they upload.

8. Availability & Changes

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify, add or remove features, content or plans. If a change materially reduces a paid plan's value, we will notify you and you may cancel for a pro-rated refund of the unused period.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, loss of data, or loss of profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under Nigerian consumer protection law, UK/EU consumer law, or other mandatory local rules.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you are a consumer in the UK, EU, USA or Canada, you also keep any mandatory protections of your home country, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right. We encourage you to contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the website or by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
